St. Patrick's Pots is about as unapologetically familiar as a modern slot can get. BGaming combines one of the most overused themes in the industry with one of the most overused mechanics, putting leprechaun-style imagery, feature pots and a Hold & Win collector game into the same package. There is some flexibility in how the bonus develops, but it does little to disguise just how well-worn the formula has become.
The base game runs on 5 reels with 243 ways to win, medium volatility and wagers from €0.10 to €85. Wilds appear across reels 2 to 5, but most of the attention goes to the three special feature types: Boost, Jackpot and Min Coin. These can appear above regular symbols, either improving the corresponding pot or immediately triggering Hold & Win with that feature already active.
That pot system is the main attempt to give St. Patrick's Pots some personality. Each of the three modifiers can level up independently during regular play, and more than one can be active when the bonus begins. In the strongest setup, all three work together, giving the otherwise standard respin feature a few extra layers.
Hold & Win starts with 3 respins, resetting whenever a new Coin lands. Coins remain locked until the round finishes, with the total of their values forming the main payout. Boost symbols improve Coins in their row depending on the current Boost level, while the Jackpot mechanic works through separate progress bars linked to Mini, Minor, Major and Grand prizes. Min Coin does exactly what its name suggests, raising the lowest Coin value that can appear, eventually reaching a minimum of 10x at higher levels.
The game also leans heavily into alternative betting. Chance x2 increases the frequency of special symbols, while several bonus buys let you start Hold & Win with different combinations of modifiers. A 70x purchase activates one random feature, 200x can give between one and three, and the 1,000x option guarantees all three. The feature levels used in purchased bonuses are generated separately, so any progress made on the base-game pots remains intact.
One figure that does stand out is the RTP. At 97.75%, St. Patrick's Pots is considerably more generous on paper than most current slot releases. Unfortunately, the 3,000x potential pulls in the opposite direction and feels very modest for a modern Hold & Win game, particularly when feature buys can cost as much as 1,000x the stake.
It is difficult to get excited about another Irish-themed collector slot at this point. The upgradeable pots add some variation and the RTP is excellent, but the basic experience is still built around collecting Coins, resetting respins and chasing familiar jackpot tiers. The theme has been done to death, the mechanics are equally saturated, and a 3,000x ceiling hardly gives the game much extra pulling power. If Hold & Win slots are exactly what you want, St. Patrick's Pots does the job competently enough. For others, though, this may be another release that feels far too familiar to leave much of an impression.
