Supreme Zeus: Slot Overview
The chief of the Olympian gods, Zeus, is a very popular character in the online slot scene, and has quickly become a firm favourite of software developer Hacksaw Gaming. The towering ancient god has starred in the studio's Le Zeus, Ze Zeus, Zeus Ze Zecond, and now the current release, Supreme Zeus. Quite why the provider is so hooked on the sovereign of Mt Olympus remains unclear, but, if you're going to do Greek mythology, you may as well use the most powerful in the pantheon. When setting the theme aside, Supreme Zeus has an emphasis on landing coin symbols, yet in a plot twist, not to collect their individual values, but to create lines of multipliers, which can combine into huge values, climaxing in a Hot 100 bonus round, which bestows an equally huge 100 free spins.
Aside from Le Zeus, where, you know, the main man was played by a raccoon, Hacksaw Gaming tends to represent Zeus as a seriously ripped deity, and in Supreme Zeus, he is ridiculously jacked. All the throwing of lightning bolts and dispensing of justice must be the sort of hard work that keeps one trim. He inhabits a leafy, arched world in the base game, before visiting other Greco-influenced worlds in its bonus rounds. Despite this, Supreme Zeus is not the grandest Olympian-themed slot ever to grace gamblers' screens, but it possesses enough of a magisterial touch to command attention.

Supreme Zeus is a ways to win game played on a 5x4 gaming grid. Symbols create winning combinations when at least three of the same kind land on adjacent reels from the leftmost side. A minimum of $/€0.10 to a maximum of $/€75 may be wagered on each spin in this highly volatile slot, where the highest of the four RTP variants is 96.39%.
Five gems coloured green, blue, purple, orange, and red are the low pays, while harps, wreaths, grapes, rams, and hearts are the highs. Landing a 5 OAK winning combination of gems pays 0.3x the bet, rising to 0.5x to 0.8x for landing 5 matching premium symbols in a win. Wild symbols do not appear in the game.
Supreme Zeus: Slot Features

The features populating this corner of Mt Olympus are Super Cascades, CoinWays, Thunder Reign bonus, Wrath of Olympus bonus, a Hot 100 Bonus, and feature buys.
Super Cascades
When a winning combination forms, all regular symbols of the type that were used in the winning combination are removed from the reels. New symbols drop in, and cascades continue until no new wins appear.
CoinWays
Coins only appear in the three bonus games and during Sacred FeatureSpins. Bronze coins are worth 1x, silver coins 2x-4x, and gold coins are worth 5x-10x. They form a CoinWays win when there are coins on at least 3 adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. CoinWays activates after regular wins have been evaluated. When CoinWays activate, the respective coins add their values to the Coin Bar above the grid, where there are five positions corresponding to the five reels. If there are multiple coins on a reel, their values are added together before appearing on the bar. Next, the values are multiplied from left to right to determine a final bet multiplier. The Coin Bar resets before the next spin.
Thunder Reign Bonus Game
Landing 3 scatters in the base game triggers 10 free spins in the Thunder Reign round. During this feature, the aforementioned coins may appear. In this bonus and Wrath of Olympus, landing 2 or 3 scatters awards +2 or +4 free spins, respectively.
Wrath of Olympus Bonus Game
Hitting 4 scatters in the base game triggers Wrath of Olympus' 10 free spins. During this feature, at least one coin is guaranteed to land on each spin.
Hot 100 Bonus Last Ascension
Getting very lucky and landing 3 Hot 100 symbols in the base game triggers the Hot 100 Bonus. This round keeps the mechanics of Thunder Reign but has a higher chance of forming CoinWays, and it awards 100 free spins.
Feature Buys
Costing 5x the bet, the BonusHunt FeatureSpins have a higher chance of triggering Thunder Reign and a 50 times higher chance of triggering the Wrath of Olympus and Last Ascension bonuses. Sacred FeatureSpins cost 500x to guarantee at least one coin lands per reel. From there, players may buy Thunder Reign for 100x or Wrath of Olympus for 200x the stake.

Supreme Zeus: Slot Verdict
It was peculiar, given Hacksaw Gaming's past propensity for reel multiplier style features and Zeus, quite how out of character Supreme Zeus felt in some ways. It's hard to put a finger on why this is so. One unusual characteristic is how unentertaining the base game is. Typically, Hacksaw Gaming titles drop a taste of the main feature in the base game, before expanding on it as bonus rounds progress. In Supreme Zeus, nothing. Well, ways wins, yet the absence of CoinWays in that phase felt both off and restrictive. Using this approach does make triggering a bonus round that extra bit exciting when it does happen, but here's hoping this isn't something Hacksaw Gaming is going to latch onto and use exclusively from now on.
Then there are the bonus rounds, which may be very hit or miss, given the potential lethality that 5 multiplying multipliers possess. The effect was mildly similar to the studio's Western-themed Dead by Noon, which could also create lines of multipliers above its grid. However, in that game, they were used to boost winning combinations on the grid, rather nicely , when it occurred in conjunction with the Row Cascade feature. In Supreme Zeus, active multipliers simply multiply each other, and players collect the total. On paper, theoretically speaking, a 10x coin on each reel would produce a final total of 100,000x, though in reality, Supreme Zeus is capped to wins of up to 12,500x, meaning a lot of its theoretical potential is left on the table, and the full amount is unachievable in the base game.
The Hot 100 is an odd one as well, and feels more arcade gimmicky than Hacksaw Gaming usually includes. Oh well, it's there, and players who manage to trigger it are unlikely to complain about its 100 free spins. All up, Supreme Zeus was a slightly unusual game for Hacksaw Gaming, one that is certainly capable of packing a sizable wallop when its CoinWays combinations align, and whether this change in style is a harbinger of a new direction for the studio or one-off anomaly, we'll have to wait and see.
Supreme Zeus certainly commands some powerful features, but it also comes across a little thin by Hacksaw Gaming standards.
