Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune: Slot Overview
Remember Mithrune? It was the kingdom under attack by the Dark Lord Duran, which had to be protected by a bunch of heroes tasked with opening a portal to his shadowy domain to unite in battle to defeat him. If you're having difficulties recalling that episode, having a look back at Champions of Mithrune by Play'n GO should refresh your memory. For now, though, it's the time of Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune, another fantasy story set in the land of Mithrune, full of imaginative characters, magic, and fantasy.
This part of Mithrune is quite a fancy place. Instead of clouds, it's got palaces on floating chunks of rock, exotic flora, and powerful creatures of a variety of races. It's a Dungeons & Dragons-style game with an Arabic twist, let's say. Champions of Mithrune was quite a looker, and so has Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune turned out to be. Certainly, there are no complaints or critiques with the game's first impression.

Some things have changed, however, and stats are one area where the two games differ. For one, Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune has eased volatility back to a medium rating (6 out of 10), making it less highly wired than before. As per usual, it's available in a variety of RTP configurations, defaulting at 96%. Bets between 10 c to $/€100 per spin are provided, and the gaming occurs on a 5-reel, 4-row matrix where 20 paylines are included for calculating regular line wins.
A fancy set of 10 to A card ranks take the place of the low pay symbols, awarding 0.3 to 0.4 times the bet for a 5 symbol hit, whereas the high pays are Anastina the Sorcerer, Olc the Goblin, Silvana the Ranger, Gorm the Barbarian, and Syn the Shapeshifter. Landing a winning line of 5 high pays awards 1.25 to 5 times the bet. A daggery W symbol is the game's wild, present on all reels. Wilds substitute for all regular pay symbols and have the same value as Syn if making wins of themselves.
Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune: Slot Features

In Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune, the focus is on character upgrades and a round of free spins, which can benefit from modifiers accrued in a pre-round Power Up feature.
Character Upgrades
Syn, the chap next to the reels, transforms character symbols into the highest-paying symbol. On each base game spin, he displays the symbol type, which will be upgraded. If the symbol is already the highest pay, nothing will happen. Only one character's symbols may be upgraded in the base game, and upgrading does not guarantee wins
Power Up Feature & Free Spins
Scatters land on reels 1, 3, and 5. Hitting 3 scatters triggers the free spins round, but a Power Up feature plays first. This takes place on a 5-reel grid where only special character tokens, potions, or scatters may land. The mini-game begins with 3 lives; if no symbols land, 1 life is lost. When symbols do land, all 3 lives are restored.
- Collecting 3 character tokens causes the respective character to be upgraded for the duration of the free spins round.
- Collecting 3 potion symbols increases the multiplier by 1 up to a maximum of x10 for the duration of free spins – the multiplier only affects line wins that include the Syn symbol on the centre reel.
- Collecting 3 scatter symbols increases the total number of free spins by 1 up to a maximum of 10.
The maximum number of spins in the Power Up is 33, and the Power Up feature ends when all lives are lost, and players progress to free spins. It is not possible to retrigger free spins from within free spins.

Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune: Slot Verdict
Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune feels, at best, a step sideways compared to Champions of Mithrune. There are some areas in which it absolutely shines, and in others, it falls a bit flat. On the whole, Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune is a nice game, and it's been so well presented that some players may be drawn in on looks alone, yet it didn't feel like a better slot than Champions of Mithrune, all things considered.
As said, looks are one of the game's major high points. The exotic setting, the varied band of heroes, the hexing effects, the animations, and so on make Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune a real feast for the eyes. Visual effects seep into the base game feature, too, when Syn displays the symbol for upgrade on a spin, and if it appears on the reels, it undergoes a flashy transformation process. As the game makes clear, though, symbol upgrades do not guarantee a win, so oftentimes, the feature is for cosmetic purposes only. Free spins have possibility, though they depend on how well the Power Up round plays out - if/how many symbols are permanently upgraded, the size or lack of the multiplier, and a simple thing like the number of free spins you get. Interestingly, or perhaps disappointingly, even stacking the deck with every modifier in the book, the most that Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune will pay out is 3,000x the bet at best.
The features in Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune are somewhat similar to those found in Champions of Mithrune but turned back a notch or two, matching the less volatile math model and decimated winning potential, technically suiting a different type of gambler. Players who liked the previous slot may be saddened to see that Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune hasn't exactly picked up where the last game left off and taken the experience to new heights, instead choosing to noodle around looking good but being a tad disappointing at the same time.
Tales of Mithrune Syn's Fortune is a fine-looking game but one which dials back the drama compared to its predecessor.
