On paper, it aims for the same long-session multiplier escalation style seen in several modern high-volatility releases, but with Peter & Sons' more stylised presentation layered on top.
Visually, the game has the studio's usual hand-crafted look, mixing cartoon crime aesthetics with exaggerated mobster caricatures and sharp animation work. It's not as visually ambitious as some of the studio's heavier productions like Barbarossa Dragon Empire, but it still stands out immediately compared to the generic slot market. The title itself is an obvious parody, and the game leans into that tone throughout without becoming overly goofy. Everything feels polished, from the reel effects to the multiplier overlays spreading across the board.
The core gameplay revolves around three Wild types. Regular Wilds add a small x1 multiplier boost to their position, while Special Wilds can add anything from x2 up to x10. Blast Wilds are the more aggressive version, clearing a 3x3 section around themselves and applying multipliers across affected positions. Since the game uses cascading reels, these multiplier values can build gradually over a sequence of wins, creating stronger setups the longer a chain survives.

During the feature, multiplier overlays remain on the grid for the entire round rather than resetting after each spin, which is where most of the game's bigger potential comes from. Super Free Spins are triggered through a special scatter and remove the weaker Regular Wilds entirely, leaving only the stronger Special and Blast Wilds active. Neither version can retrigger, which keeps the feature relatively short despite the large ceiling.

The Soapranos feels like a good example of Peter & Sons sticking to what they do well: quality presentation, distinctive visual identity, and mechanics that are solid even if they are not especially groundbreaking. The multiplier overlay system works, and the 30,000x ceiling gives the game far more bite than the feature set initially suggests. At the same time, there are stretches where the overlays build without ever really paying off, and mechanically it never quite reaches the creativity level some of the studio's strongest releases have shown before.
Still, this is a much better effort than the theme might initially suggest. The parody angle could easily have turned into a throwaway joke slot, but Peter & Sons treats it seriously enough to make it feel like a real game rather than a gimmick. It's not their most innovative release, but it is polished, entertaining, and capable of producing genuinely explosive sessions when the multiplier grid finally connects properly.
