Cheerful is one word that came to mind when Wild Buzz first buzzed up on the screen. It's set in the middle of a forest full of trees, sunbeams, and flowers. The live game area is made up of 6 reels holding 4 symbols each, with a Beehive Collection meter on one side, a multiplier ladder on the other, and several buttons to push. One button may be the Super Stake feature, which, when activated, doubles the stake, adding more scatters to the reels, making it more likely to trigger free spins.

Wild Buzz: Slot Features

Just like bees collect pollen, players in Wild Buzz collect bees. How it works is that whenever a wild bee symbol hits, it is stored in the Beehive collection meter located by the reels. When the Hive reaches 12 or more bees, the Hive Spin feature is triggered.

Hive Spin

For the Hive Spin, 2 reels are highlighted and synchronised, so they land identical symbols. Also, up to 10 wild bee symbols are added to the reels. The collection number decreases by the number of wild bees placed on the grid. If wild bees land on a highlighted reel, they are duplicated on the adjacent reel. In addition, when wild bees are added to the grid, each one increases the multiplier ladder. It takes 4 bees to reach the starting value of x2, and the ladder goes as high as x12. The resulting multiplier is applied to the total win on that spin.

Free Spins

When 3, 4, 5, or 6 beehive scatter symbols are in view, players win 5, 7, 10, or 15 free spins, respectively. Every free spin is a Hive Spin, so 2 different reels are synched/highlighted, plus up to 10 Wild Bees are added to the grid on each spin, as described above. The difference is that wild bees are not collected, and the Hive is full for the full duration of the bonus round. When free spins end, the Beehive collection returns to the level collected before the triggering spin occurred. For Wild Buzz, Stakelogic has poured on the charm like runny honey over cornflakes, and it's hard not to like such a charming game with all those buzzy bees buzzing around. There are a few bee-themed slots humming about the place, with Push Gaming's Wild Swarm being one of the more prominent, and if the number of bees in real life is dropping they're fairly prevalent in the online gambling sphere. Still, having a bunch of bee slots on tap is hardly a substitute if they vanish from the wild, and crops around the world take a hit.

What say we not dwell too long on an agricultural doomsday and focus on the jovial world of Wild Buzz instead? Fortunately, the game has quite a lot going on to distract players with, and not just in terms of its sweet nature cover. Mystery symbols are a bit of an easy option in some ways, but a welcome inclusion, plus Hive Spins can be quite entertaining with all those added wilds, synched reels, and possible multipliers going on. The fact that every single free spin is a Hive Spin makes the bonus round rather desirable, and they performed quite well during the review. Not as in hitting something outrageous, yet bonus rounds were quite consistent at turning out okay wins. Buying them didn't appear to be a hugely volatile endeavour, as well. At least this was how Wild Buzz went for us.

All in all, Wild Buzz was a solid performer which was easy to go along and enjoy the ride with. It's not a game likely to make a major splash. However, if you're not in the mood for a grounding-shaking monster of a game that'll rough up the unwary and would prefer something cheerfully lite to unwind with, Wild Buzz might be just the thing.
