Connect & Collect symbols appear on any non-special position on reels 1 to 5. Occasionally, they can have a cash value of 0.4x to 50x the bet. Connect & Collect symbols landing from left to right from the leftmost reel, connected horizontally or vertically, awards their displayed cash values or reaching the chain of symbols to one of the special positions on reel 3 or 6, awards the prize from the reached special position. During the base game and in free spins, the special positions on reel 3 and reel 6 may contain the following symbols:

• Respins - only appears on reel 3's special positions. When reached, 5 respins are triggered. During respins, all Connect & Collect symbols from the triggering spin remain locked in place, and all other positions on reels 1 to 5 respin. Any Connect & Collect symbols that hit on a respin remain in place until there are no more respins left. After the respins, the game awards any connections.
• Money Value - when reached by a connection chain, a prize value of 2x to 160x the stake is awarded.
• Add Wilds - when reached by a connection chain, wild symbols are added to random positions on reels 2 to 5.
• Free Spins - when reached by a connection chain after any other awards are paid out, 7, 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins are awarded, as well as a 2x the bet cash prize.

The pot of gold scatter symbol appears on all reels. When buying free spins, the triggering spin lands enough Connect & Collect symbols to form a chain that reaches the special positions on reel 3 and at least one of the positions on the rightmost reel. For the triggering spin, the rightmost reel only contains free spins symbols.

Cynics might be tempted to say general remakes of already average slots using a jolly Irish theme is the definition of creative bankruptcy. It's kind of hard to argue heatedly with that idea after reviewing 7 Clovers of Fortune. There are changes; here and there, Connect & Collect symbols sometimes appearing with cash values on them is a positive; dropping the highest prizes on the Money Value symbols and reducing the amount of the Minor and Major awards is less positive. Add it all up, and the net result is approximately the same as the last two C&C slots in terms of good times and entertainment value.

Some might be stoked with another dose of this connecting and collecting stuff. If so, then more power to them. However, if you've seen it once, you've kind of seen them all, as the gameplay hasn't been updated much for 7 Clovers of Fortune. Spin away in a colourful leprechaun realm, hope that Connect & Collect symbols connect with something exciting and collect it. Fair dues, the game system has a measure of variety; dropping respins where C&C symbols lock, for example, and having prizes appear at the halfway point on the third reel is a motivating factor. Winning potential isn't a colossal motivator, capped as it is at 4,454x the bet, with the assumption the Grand 4,000x prize will be needed to achieve that figure. In this instance, the third time was not the charm.
