AvatarUX launched during an event at SiGMA Week in 2018 with the goal of creating games offering innovative mechanics and features, all wrapped in distinctively Asian inspired artwork. Based in Malta, AvatarUX also retains international branches in locations such as Hong Kong. Having a global presence means the studio brings Eastern and Western influences to bear when designing their slots. This universal approach has helped AvatarUX appeal to wider markets which is paying dividends.

Before being powered by Yggdrasil's YGS Masters Program, AvatarUX was a little known studio that had yet to make a name for itself. The working relationship with Yggdrasil has given AvatarUX a chance to access technology such as GATI, to leverage their design capabilities. Early games like Lilith's Inferno caused players and providers to take notice, but it's been their range of PopWins games that have put AvatarUX on the map. PopWin’s dynamic reel system has been paired with an array of themes as diverse as Asian, fruit, and etheric pirates.
