Big Bass Bonanza 1000: Slot Overview
In an attempt to stretch extra life out of older slots and pull in fans and new players alike, developer Pragmatic Play has for a while now been giving certain slots a '1000' makeover. Past examples include Sugar Rush 1000, Sweet Bonanza 1000, and Gates of Olympus 1000, which tend to be bigger games in some way than the slots they were built from. Teaming up with partner Reel Kingdom, the studio has cast its eye over one of the jewels in its crown, Big Bass Bonanza, made a few adjustments, and pushed out an upgraded version, Big Bass Bonanza 1000.
There aren't many points garnered from graphical upgrades, however. Big Bass Bonanza 1000 lays on a typical Big Bass scene of bubble-lined see-through matrix, water, rocks, and so on. The same symbols return, same fisherman on the wild, same same all around, really. The 1000 in the title above the reels provides a clue that something's up, but for a lot of the time, playing Big Bass Bonanza 1000 is very much like playing the original game.

Starting from the leftmost side, winning combinations may land across 10 paylines on the 5x3 grid setup. Maximum RTP is strong at 96.51%, and the math model is highly volatile. When picking a stake, the choices are 10 c to $/€250, and if you're okay with increasing the bet by 50%, the ante bet improves the chance of triggering free spins as more scatters will be present on the reels.
Classic BBB items appear on the paytable from 10-A card ranks to fish symbols, tackle boxes, reels, dragonflies, and floats. Five-of-a-kind winning combinations pay 5 to 200 times the bet, and wilds help by replacing any regular paying symbol - wilds do not appear on the base game, though.
Big Bass Bonanza 1000: Slot Features

The base game is about as dry as it gets, so it's not till free spins trigger that things get interesting. This is done by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters to win 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively. In the base game, when 2 scatters hit, there is a chance another scatter comes onto the screen by a random respin or hook pull feature.
During free spins, each wild that hits collects the values from all money symbols in view. The fish are the money symbols, and each can have a value of 2x to 1,000x the bet. Wilds are collected, too. Every fourth wild symbol collected retriggers the feature, awarding +10 more free spins and a multiplier for money symbol collection of x2 for the first retrigger, x3 for the second retrigger, and x10 for the third retrigger. Retriggered spins are played after the current batch of free spins ends, and the multiplier applies to the retriggered spins.
During free spins, randomly, fish money symbols may appear on the screen if there is at least one wild in view. Or wilds and money symbols may randomly be brought on screen after the spin has ended by a hook animation.
Feature Buys
In the bonus buy menu, the regular free spins feature can be bought for 100x the bet, or super free spins where the chance of landing money symbols with 1,000x values is increased costs 450x the bet.

Big Bass Bonanza 1000: Slot Verdict
Took their time, didn't they? The Big Bass series has gone through so many iterations that one might have thought we'd have seen a 1000 version by now. Never mind, fish fans, we got it now, and well, it turned out to be about what was expected. Most of the game is regular Big Bass stuff, with a couple of tweaks that put Big Bass Bonanza 1000 into a different league from the bulk of its brethren. Kind of odd tweaks, actually. The 1000 part of the deal would appear to be linked to the 1,000x fish value, but interestingly, the biggest fish is worth just half of the 2,000x top fish money symbol that is theoretically available in the first Big Bass Bonanza slot, putting a slight downer on the experience.
But, to rebalance the scales and make the game relevant, Big Bass Bonanza 1000 blows its win cap way past Big Bass Bonanza's, posting a far larger 20,000x the bet figure for players to chase, or at least fantasise about hooking. And that's about it for Big Bass Bonanza 1000's inclusion in the 1000 range. The only other thing of note is the super free spins buy, which is not cheap at 450x but where gamblers have a better chance of bumping into the big fish. All in all, Big Bass Bonanza 1000 is a little unfulfilling since all it has done really is halve the top money symbol and open the max win floodgates. Still, for gamblers who want the Big Bass experience but found the original winning potential a tad too much on the paltry side, Big Bass Bonanza 1000 should suffice.
In Short
Big Bass Bonanza 1000 plays it safe, but bigger jackpot fish and a boosted win cap give the familiar formula a welcome lift.
