Big Bass Splash 1000: Slot Overview
It's no major exaggeration to say that developers Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom appear to be milking all they can out of their Big Bass Bonanza range before the wheels fall off and the series implodes under the weight of its own bloated excess. One way of doing so is producing '1000' branded upgrades. The 1000 range is a burgeoning series in its own right, and includes the likes of Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Gates of Olympus 1000. It already possesses, no surprises here, Big Bass Bonanza 1000, as well, but if too much is never enough, then fish fans get another chance to gorge courtesy of Big Bass Splash 1000.
Not much has changed visually between Big Bass Splash and Big Bass Splash 1000, though that's no great surprise. A familiar scene remains: rocky terrain meeting the water's edge, where weeds sway beneath dappling sunlight and fish drift through calm shallows. The soundtrack seems slightly tweaked, but not in any major way, and its upbeat tone still does plenty to lift the game's mood. Maybe don't come to Big Bass Splash 1000 expecting radical new sights or sounds, yet everything here remains pleasant enough to look at and listen to.

As before, Big Bass Splash 1000 has a 5x3 matrix as its active play area, where there are 10 paylines doing the business of evaluating wins. Winning potential is seriously higher than before, though the RTP this time is slightly less at 96.52% as the highest configuration. The volatility is high, while the stake range has a minimum of $/€0.10 and a maximum of $/€250. However, by activating the ante bet, the stake is doubled to increase the chance of triggering free spins by having more scatters on the reels.
We get the same pay symbols as before, which are 10-A royals, fish, tackle boxes, dragonflies, reels, and automobiles. A line of 5-matching royals pays 5x to 10x the bet, and the rest are worth 20x to 200x for a 5 OAK winning line. Fish symbols are also money symbols, and they carry values of 2x to 1,000x the bet. The wild appears on all reels in the free spins round only and replaces all of the regular paying symbols in a winning combination.
Big Bass Splash 1000: Slot Features

As per usual, there's not much to say about the base game other than when landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters, players win 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively. Also, if 2 scatters are in view, there is a chance a respin or hook feature brings the third scatter onto the screen. Before free spins begin, 0 to 5 modifiers which apply during the bonus round are randomly chosen:
- More Fish - More fish symbols are present on the reel strips.
- More Fisherman - More wild symbols are present on the reel strips.
- More Dynamites, Hooks and Bazookas - The chance of triggering these features increases.
- Start From Level 2 - The round starts at level 2 of the progression feature.
- +2 Spins - The round starts with 2 more free spins, and 2 more free spins are added to every retrigger.
During the round, each landed wild symbol collects the values from all money symbols also in view. Wilds are collected as well. Every 4th wild symbol collected retriggers the feature, awarding +10 free spins and increasing the multiplier for money symbol collection to x2 for the second level, x3 for the third level, and x10 for the fourth level. After the fourth retrigger, the feature cannot be retriggered anymore. Additionally, these features may activate:
- Dynamite - At random, when there are fisherman symbols on screen but no fish, at the end of a free spin, fish symbols may appear on the reels.
- Hook - When there are fish but no fisherman, at the end of a free spin, a hook may appear to bring wilds onto the screen.
- Bazooka -When there are fisherman symbols in view but no fish, at the end of a free spin, all symbols other than wilds may be changed into something else.
Feature Buy
By paying 100x their bet, players can buy into the free spins feature, or for 450x, they can buy super free spins where the chance of money symbols with the 1,000x value is increased.

Big Bass Splash 1000: Slot Verdict
As with a lot of Big Bass slots, Big Bass Splash 1000 feels like it's all been done before. Not just because players already had Big Bass Splash and Bigger Bass Splash, but also because the original Big Bass Bonanza has already undergone its own '1000' expansion. As alluded to earlier, we are long past the point of expecting mind-blowing innovation from every new Big Bass slot. They remain playable games, no doubt, and few fishing slots can match their trademark upbeat positivity. But the formula has become somewhat circular, as if Reel Kingdom is chasing its own tail at an ever-increasing speed as reworks, clones, and upgraded versions continue to fly out into the real world.
One thing players can find here is vastly more winning potential, raising the cap to 25,000x compared to Big Bass Splash's 5,000x. What's interesting is that the higher fish money symbol values have been reduced to 1,000x at the most (Big Bass Splash/Bigger Bass Splash's fish could hit 1,666x, 2,500x, or even 5,000x on their own). Odd, but there you have it. Super free spins may be able to tilt the scales back, since technically, the chance of 1,000x money symbols is increased, though you have to pay 450x for the opportunity, since super free spins don't naturally trigger, which is kind of a big disappointment.
The rest of the game is pretty much the same as it ever was. Free spins come with up to 5 of the same modifiers, no change has been made to the base game, and the overall atmosphere remains positively sunny. Bigger winning potential might be enough to pull in newcomers or masochistic old timers who've already seen it all before and then some, but can't help themselves. Yet, unless stumping up the cash for super free spins to cast off for potentially bigger winnings, there aren't a lot of reasons for picking Big Bass Splash 1000 over the original, or a number of other titles in the massive Big Bass range.
Big Bass Splash 1000 bumps up the win cap but changes little else, making it a serviceable yet uninspired addition to the long-running series.
