Coop Clash: Slot Overview

Ah, nature, how good is it to leave the concrete jungle behind every now and then to breathe in the clean air, experience a slower pace of life, and enjoy the peace of the countryside? Scratch peace, though, because despite the farmyard setting of Hacksaw Gaming's partner Bullshark Games' slot Coop Cash, there isn't going to be much peace happening around here. This is because General Rabbit (that's his name) is on a mission to steal chicken eggs, and while sneaky animals like a fox might use stealth, this bunny prefers a shock-and-awe approach. Using literal firepower, symbols get removed, wilds wander, and multipliers are built in this species vs species clusters pays slot.

This may be a little pedantic, but rabbits in real life don't really have much interest in chicken eggs. Since they're herbivores, bunnies do not eat animal products, preferring plant-based items to fill their furry little tummies. Then again, rabbits don't have tanks either, and General Rabbit sits in one as it hums next to the gaming grid. It seems a bit of imaginative relaxation of reality went into the making of Coop Clash to tee up the tussle between animals, and the idea works quite well as a fun wee escape from reality.

Coop Clash slot - base game

Coop Clash's arena is a 7x7 gaming grid, forming winning combinations when 5 or more identical symbols land next to each other in horizontal or vertical positions. It's a medium-high volatile slot taking bets of 10 c to $/€100 per spin, and players can activate features from its 4-option bonus buy menu. The default theoretical RTP for Coop Clash is 96.15%, but alternative lower versions are available.

When winning clusters appear, the symbols in them are removed from the reels and symbols drop down until all spaces have been filled. This provides another chance to win on the same spin, and cascading continues like this until no new win lands. Five egg symbols are the lower-paying batch, and 5 chickens are the higher-paying symbols. Clusters of 5 OAK in size pay 0.1 to 1 times the stake, going up to 7.5 to 50 times the stake for a 13+ OAK cluster.

Coop Clash: Slot Features

Sitting above the reels is the Total Win area displaying the win value from cascades. If there are multipliers from wild symbols, then they are collected by a win multiplier, which is applied to the Total Win value. As well as a win multiplier, Coop Clash has special wild symbols, a symbol removal feature, Rabbit Rampage and Unstoppable Rabbit bonus rounds, as well as bonus buys.

Wild Symbol & Symbol Removal

The wild symbol replaces any paying symbol. After a win, all wilds remain on the reels and move to a new random position. After participating in a win, a wild will get a multiplier of x1 to x10, and each time the wild is part of a win, it adds the initial multiplier to its value. All multipliers from wild symbols are added to the win multiplier. The win multiplier resets with each new spin. Moreover, each landed wild symbol increases a counter, and when the counter reaches 3, the lowest value pay symbol is removed from the grid. Only low-pay egg symbols may be removed. The counter resets for each new base game spin.

Rabbit Rampage

Hitting 3 scatters in the base game awards 6 free spins, while 4 landed scatters grant 8 free spins in the Rabbit Rampage bonus. Any symbols removed remain so until the end of the feature, and the counter does not reset between spins. Each scatter that lands grants an extra free spin.

Unstoppable Rabbit

Hitting 5 scatters in the base game awards 10 free spins in the Unstoppable Rabbit feature. At least 3 wild symbols are guaranteed on the first free spin. The rest of the round functions the same as Rabbit Rampage.

Bonus Buys

Opening up the bonus buy section, players may activate BonusHunt FeatureSpins for 3x the bet to make each spin 5 times more likely to trigger free spins. They can also activate Egg Blaster FeatureSpins, which guarantees at least 3 wild symbols at a cost of 50x per spin. Bonus rounds can be bought as well. Rabbit Rampage for 100x to Unstoppable Rabbit for 300x.

Coop Clash: Slot Verdict

Bullshark Games' penchant for multiplier-powered cluster pays slots continues apace with the release of Coop Clash. The game has echoes of earlier releases, Piggy Cluster Hunt and Amazing MiceKeteers, but is by no means a copy of either. Hints of Rabbit Royale seeped in as well, though ELK Studios' rabbit slot did come across as the higher quality release, presentation-wise. Its gameplay, too, scored higher on the innovation meter, but the extras Coop Clash drop on its reels aren't shabby. Each feature has the ability to crack a smile on its own, but they can work well together, producing a snowball effect when they're really cooking.

One important thing to note about Coop Clash is that while wild symbols remain on the reels during a cascade sequence, they do not stay on the grid between free spins. That's a little too bad, as the game doesn't progress the way Jammin' Jars does, but it does progress in other ways, namely the symbol removal feature, and having less low pays clutter up the board is no bad thing. Also, it's a little too bad the win multiplier does not persist between free spins, either. Broadly speaking, this method means that in terms of roaming wild/multiplicative mayhem, free spins have more of an all-or-nothing flavour to them rather than an intense ascent as a bonus round builds momentum, if that makes sense. This approach has its ups and downs, one up being a sizable 12,000x max win, which can even occur in the base game.

All in all, Coop Clash was an entertaining slot. It's coated in a fun chickens against rabbit theme, the features are potent enough to theoretically lead somewhere thrilling, and the features are able to work well together. Coop Clash might not be the filthiest piece of military hardware fresh from R&D, but it's a playable cluster pays slot all the same.

In Short

Coop Clash is a fun cluster pays slot packing species vs species action and a variety of extras.
