Dick the Farmer: Slot Overview
One of the neat things about the online gambling industry is that despite a tidal wave of dull, boring, or regurgitated ideas, quite often, a studio manages to cause the eyebrows to rise in surprise. After wading through a number of so-so releases, such as Buffalo Freedom DoubleMax, it was actually somewhat surprising to see Yggdrasil Gaming triggering shock this time. With 'Plow hard and deep into Big Wins and Jackpots' as part of its call to action, the slot in question is Dick the Farmer, and if the title sounds a bit ooh la la, just wait till the game opens up properly to assault your eyes and sensitivities with smutty innuendoes, in a good way. Maybe. Let's see.
A quintessential big red barn holds Dick the Farmer's gaming area, covered in big, bright, odd symbols, topped by a bar tracking players' progress towards the jackpot feature. An old-timey green vehicle adds to the quaint, down-on-the-farm feel, making it easy to imagine a homely farming couple working hard to raise crops and livestock for sale at the market. However, it won't take long to spot some rather risqué/amusing/inappropriate references dotted about the place, causing one to question exactly what sort of shenanigans Dick and crew get up to…

Players get no less than 4,096 ways to win on the Dick the Farmer's 6x4 grid matrix. A highly volatile math model drives the action and is available in three different RTP configurations. The highest return value players may encounter is a 96% version, which they can stake 10 c to $/€10 per spin on. Wins occur at a frequency of 33.98%, and users are able to bonus buy their way into the main course if they'd rather speed the pace along.
Dick the Farmer's regular pay symbols are an oddly erotic set of leafy veg, cherries, corn, apricots, and eggplants as the low pays, then peculiarly posed pigs, cows, cats, and roosters as the premiums. A line of 6 matching low pays is worth 0.6 to 1 times the bet; a line of 6 premiums pays 2.5 to 5 times the bet. The wild symbol substitutes for all regular symbols, and it awards 10 times the bet when 6 wilds create a winning combination of their own.
Dick the Farmer: Slot Features

Features in Dick the Farmer link to the racy attitude and include Synced Reels, Encore respins, Louder feature, Encore Respins, free spins, the Fanny Jackpot Collection, and bonus buys.
Modifiers
- Synced Reels - Synced Reels randomly sync 2 to 6 reels, so the applicable reels land with the exact same symbols on them. This feature triggers at random in the base game and on every spin in the free spins feature.
- Encore - The Encore feature also triggers at random in the base game. When it does, it awards a respin with an additional guaranteed Synced Reel. Encore may randomly trigger again.
- Louder - The Louder feature can trigger on any winning spin, increasing the multiplier by +1, which applies to all wins. Louder can retrigger at random to produce a higher multiplier. Louder may occur before an Encore, so the multiplier will also apply there.
Free Spins
Players win 8, 12, 16, or 20 free spins when 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters hit. Free spins have 2 Synced Reels guaranteed on every spin. When an Encore symbol hits, it grants another Synced Reel as well as +1 free spin. Hitting the Louder symbol grants +1 to the multiplier for the rest of the feature.
Fanny Jackpot Collection
All regular symbols may land with the Jackpot Collection Subsymbol on them. They grant 1 to 3 drops, or points, towards the Golden Jackpot Collection. They afterwards reveal the regular symbol underneath them. After collecting 400 points, players win a spin on the Jackpot wheel. When the marker lands on a Jackpot, it is awarded. If the marker lands on an outward arrow, the wheel moves to the outer circle and spins again, increasing the chance for a bigger prize. The wheel awards 15x to 2,000x the bet.
Bonus Buys
Gamblers may buy 8-20, 12-20, 16-20, or 20 free spins for 75x, 150x, 250x, or 350x the bet, respectively.

Dick the Farmer: Slot Verdict
Gamblers will be forgiven if they feel the need to pinch themselves while playing Dick the Farmer. It just isn't the sort of slot Yggdrasil Gaming usually makes. It's a lot more risque as if the sun's gone down, the team has thrown off their office suits, donned blush-worthy night wear and are off to paint the town red, or orange, or neon blue, or whatever freaky colour their hearts desire. Naturally, not everyone has the same sense of humour, and some of Dick the Farmer might come across as a bit cringey. But it is nice to see the studio try on a different hat and design a game that might have been out of its comfort zone.
The features are less experimental than all the crotch jokes and what have you, but there's a decent spread of them, and they're able to theoretically combine with the 6-reel grid and its large number of ways to win quite well. Technically, it is possible to sync all 6 reels to soak up the 4,096 ways, which is quite a thought all by itself, but should a multiplier also be present when this occurs, then the 20,000x max win could be in reach. Maybe hit it. Maybe not, but the mix of syncing reels, respins, and increasing multiplier is a solid combination on a grid set-up like this. Perhaps cutting out the Fanny Jackpot Collection, thereby squirting the jackpot segment of the RTP into regular ways wins, might have been more desirable, but this feature did allow the studio to put the humorous/gross 'drip' element into the game.
Just as telling an inappropriate joke amongst work acquaintances runs the risk of running flat to the point of toe-curling embarrassment, so filling a slot with 'dick' and 'corn' references won't tickle everyone. Such is the nature of individual taste that Dick the Farmer could just as easily be considered a bona fide Yggdrasil Gaming rib-tickler by some, by others, a piece of lewd prurient trash. At the very least, it is encouraging to see the studio put out something creative that might get people talking, for good or ill, rather than drop an insipidly themed slot or a dull reskin.
Whether it's good for a few laughs or a prurient mess, Dick the Farmer dares to be suggestively different.
