Yggdrasil Gaming

Yggdrasil Gaming was established in 2013 after CEO and founder Fredrik Elmqvist left his job as CEO of NetEnt to startup the company. Yggdrasil Gaming is a Swedish company, but the studio is based in Malta where most of the iGaming industry is located. The same year as having launched the company, Yggdrasil received its first license after having had it's random number generator and platform certified by independent testing houses.

The game portfolio is still relatively small, but this is in no way an indicator of low demand. On the contrary, games from Yggdrasil are generating massive interest and the relatively low frequency of new releases is a consequence of the studio putting much work into producing visually stunning games that in many ways resemble video games. Few other studios can compete with Yggdrasil when it comes to visuals and instead of putting into the system of repeatedly cloning their own games, like many other providers do, they work hard to produce creative, fun and innovative games.

Yggdrasil Gaming Slots

At the time of writing, Yggdrasil has around 40 games in their catalog, ranging from medium to very high variance. There are many different types of slots, many with unique functions and features, which makes it very likely that as a player, you'll find something of your taste. While their games are very popular and in high demand, unfortunately, it also has to be pointed out that the actual overall RTP of their games has shown disappointing numbers according to the Slot Tracker. The 1000x+ wins seem fewer and further between compared to other providers with the same type of variance and RTP, at least that's what we've seen in the casino streaming community.

Some of Yggdrasil's most popular games are their series of Vikings games (Vikings Go Wild, Vikings Go Berzerk & Vikings Go To Hell), along with the Dead or Alive inspired slot Cazino Zeppelin that just like it's NetEnt counterpart makes use of sticky wilds and has massive potential. Other very popular games are Golden Monkey, Seasons and Golden Fish Tank.

While there are some quite high variance games on the list, the max potential rarely seems to exceed 5000x, or at least there are very few examples to be found posted on the various gambling forums.

Typical for Yggdrasil slots is that they're played with a limited number of paylines, and it's rare to find any game over 20 or so lines. However, in 2018 the studio launched its first mega multi-line slot, Gem Rocks, which is played with 4096 lines and has max win potential of over 5000 times the stake.
