Master of Atlantis (Blueprint Gaming): Review
Master of Atlantis is something as unusual as a non-Megaways slot from Blueprint Gaming. Seeing how one of their most popular slots last year, Napoleon - Rise of an Empire, was a standard 5x3 product, we're always interested to see what they can achieve with a more "traditional" approach so to speak. Produced as an exclusive to Casumo, Master of Atlantis is a 5-reel, 4-row slot with 40 paylines.
With the mighty god Poseidon by your side, you'll benefit from Trident Strike mystery symbols as well as the Poseidon Free Spins where Trident Power Spins help you land the big wins. You can play it across any device from 0.50 to 500 Eur per spin, which unfortunately makes it unsuitable for many low-rollers but will make the high rollers happy.
Set in the depths of the legendary lost city of Atlantis, this mythology-themed slot is designed with cartoon-style graphics. Firmly positioned on the seabed, dark ocean blue is the dominant hue here. You'll see animated bubbles float towards the surface as well as seaweed sailing in the underwater current. Moreover, the game comes with soothing background music, giving it an overall chill vibe.
Taking a look at the paytable we see Greek-style font A to 9 card suit symbols as well as more lucrative pearls, chests, sharks, krakens and the game logo - the latter being the most rewarding giving you 20 times your stake for 5 of a kind. The wild is represented by the Omega symbol and substitutes for all symbols bar the scatter.
Master of Atlantis (Blueprint Gaming): Features
At any time in the main game, the Trident Strike feature may randomly come into play. When it activates, an animation is played where Poseidon's trident is thrown onto the seabed as mystery symbols in the form of bubbles are added to the reels. When the reels come to a stop, the bubbles transform into one randomly chosen symbol for increased win potential. If you've played Blueprint slots before, you've seen this feature in many of their slots.
It all comes down to the Poseidon Free Spins, however. It activates when you land 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols anywhere on the reels and gives you 1, 2 or 3 Trident Power Spins respectively as well 5 free spins. The objective is to collect as many trident symbols as possible. Collect only 5 tridents and you'll win 1 times your stake. Collect the maximum of 20 tridents and you'll win the top scatter prize of 100 times your stake.
Now, when the Free Spins start, any Scatter symbol which lands in view awards the scatter win value. So for example, if you managed to collect 20 tridents, every trident that appears on the reels will give you 100 times your stake. Should you land 5 of them on a single spin, you'll pocket 500 times your total stake along with any other winning combinations from the free spins. Furthermore, keep an eye out for the Poseidon scatter symbol - if it appears, 4 chests will be presented to you. Pick one chest to reveal either additional free spins or extra Trident Power Spins.
Master of Atlantis (Blueprint Gaming): Verdict
Master of Atlantis is not the master of innovation but it's undoubtedly sui generis. Though there's an acceptable 800x win potential in the main game, it's rather tedious and all it has going for it really is the mystery symbols feature, which more often than not, seem to position itself in the wrong place.
It's the bonus that makes Master of Atlantis stand out and although it lacks the capability to dish out those insanely massive single-spin payouts as seen in many other Blueprint slots, you can still pocket up to 10,000 times your stake if the gods of RNG are on your side.
With a medium variance mathematical design, Master of Atlantis is more balanced than many of the more volatile offerings and while it's not exactly a slot that will lead the way in the iGaming industry, it's still nice to see something else other than yet another Megaways clone for once.
Master of Atlantis is not a game changer, but a decent filler to extend the Blueprint portfolio.
