Reel Rampage: Slot Overview
The future as presented in movies, TV shows, and slots is usually either a dystopian trainwreck or a paradise of peace, justice, and… No, it's mostly only ever portrayed negatively, devastated by a natural or human-made disaster, where minds, bodies, and spirits are warped in weird, futuristic ways. Wouldn't it be nice if in the future, we've put aside our differences, dropped the bad behaviours, and come together for the betterment of all, elevating humanity to heights never dreamed possible? Eh, might happen, but it hasn't in developer Slotmill's slot Reel Rampage, 'set in a world gone off the rails - where the only rule is win or get wrecked.'
Like Nitropolis but for humans, Reel Rampage has a focus on automobiles and going faster than fast. A 'Slow' sign has been crossed out, and bits of cars are strewn about all over the place, before the skeleton of a city that has, to put it nicely, seen better days. A ragtag group of misfits appear on the grid, while the audiovisual star of the show is arguably a driving soundtrack that fluctuates between Stranger Things and heavy-duty synthwave to keep the blood and the nitrous pumping.

Reel Rampage's gaming area is pretty traditional, though, consisting of a 5x4 matrix with 20 paylines, awarding wins left to right. Slotmill has classified the math model as highly volatile and has designed two RTP variants of 96.04% and a lower one. Gamblers may stake 20c to $/€100 per spin, while activating the Xtra-Bet doubles the stake to make it 4.3 times more likely to trigger free spins. Slotmill's Burst Mode is also on hand.
Hitting a winning combination of 5 matching 10-A card royals pays 1.5x to 3x the bet, while a line of 5 matching character symbols (there are four of them) pays 4x to 10x the bet. Wilds substitute for all paying symbols and land on all reels. A wild only win pays 24x the bet for 5 OAK.
Reel Rampage: Slot Features

Reel Rampage runs on stacked symbols, Nitrous Respins, a Multiplier Meter, free spins, super free spins and Fast Track feature buys.
Stacked Symbols
Character and wild symbols can land stacked on the leftmost reel. If a stacked symbol lands partially in view in the base game, it may nudge to fill the entire reel after the initial payout. A full stacked symbol counts as 4 single symbols and triggers the Nitrous Respin feature.
Nitrous Respin
During this feature, only symbols matching the stacked symbol and modifiers may land. The life counter is reset to 3 when a symbol lands on a respin, and pay symbols are sticky. Filling a reel with locked symbols converts it into a fully stacked symbol. The feature ends when no lives remain. Modifier symbols include the Upgrade symbol, which upgrades all locked symbols to the next higher symbol on the pay table, the Add symbol, which adds a random number of extra locked symbols to the reels, and the Charge symbol, which increases the stacked multiplier by +1. Each locked symbol increases the Multiplier Meter by +1. Filling the meter increases the stacked symbol multiplier by +1 each time, and the latest stacked multiplier is applied to all stacked symbols on the screen.
Free Spins & Super Free Spins
Landing 3 scatters awards 8 free spins. During free spins, partial stacked symbols are guaranteed to nudge, fill the reel, and trigger a Nitrous Respin. Also, the Multiplier meter does not reset during free spins. If one of the triggering scatters is a super scatter, players are awarded 8 super free spins. As well as the free spins mechanics, every respin feature starts with 2 fully stacked symbols, one on the leftmost reel, the other on the rightmost reel.
Fast Track
At the Fast Track, players can activate Hazard Spins at 10x the bet, where each bonus triggered will be super free spins and every Nitrous Respin will be with the wild symbol. It's also possible to buy a game round, triggering a Nitrous Respin feature for 50x, or free spins for 100x, or super free spins for 400x.

Reel Rampage: Slot Verdict
Reel Rampage has a Nitropolis, Mad Cars, Dystopia Rebel Road, feel going on, so if you're the sort of person who thinks law and order is overrated and likes going really, really fast in a car, then Slotmill's vision of the future is probably quite a seductive one. Music plays a major role in world-building, but the characters and cut-scene animations all pad out the scene nicely. The regular gaming grid/payline setup felt a little out of place with all the other futuristic stuff going on, but rest assured, Reel Rampage's features, when firing, have no problems knocking out decent hits on the framework they're inlaid on.
There are a couple of things to cross your fingers for, which, when they occur, may lead to bigger wins. Landing four symbols on a reel in the Nitrous Respin feature in order to convert them into a stacked symbol, which then benefits from getting the Multiplier Meter, may make a major difference to the final outcome. Another is linking symbols on the leftmost reels with the stacked symbol on the rightmost reel during Nitrous Respins when triggered from super free spins. Do that and you're most probably going to be laughing. Basically, the more symbols you can plaster to the grid during respins, the better, but within this basic objective, visualising where symbols land to be better placed provides plenty of anticipation.
This system also provides plenty of winning potential, too, capped at 15,000 times the bet. On paper, Reel Rampage's mechanics sound quite exciting: respins, stacked symbols, a multiplier, and in practice, Slotmill has injected them together in a way that's able to deliver fast, furious, white knuckle rides.
Reel Rampage's dystopian petrol-head vision is the ideal setting for the sort of suspenseful action it's able to inject.
