Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter: Slot Overview
One of the earlier precursors of the scatter pays movement was developer Pragmatic Play's candy-coated online slot Sweet Bonanza. Released in 2019, it helped lay the foundations for the popular combination of scatter pays, tumble wins, and multiplier symbols that would follow. Due to the game's popularity, Pragmatic Play has since then given Sweet Bonanza various makeovers, such as 1000, Dice, and Xmas versions, helping to keep the Sweet Bonanza name firmly entrenched in the gambling consciousness. It's now received another remake, and the final product, Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter, boasts the largest winning potential in the series to date.
The graphical changes, such as they are, are not as significant. Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter resides in pretty much the same candy world, heavy on sugared items, swirls, sweets, all that kind of stuff, as before. Maybe in 2019, these sorts of candy fantasylands were less common. These days, they're one of the most abundant types of slots players are likely to run into. This is more of an observation than a criticism, because few candy slots have endured through the years like Sweet Bonanza, and it doesn't take more than a moment to realise you're playing the continuation of a classic, in a new and mightier form, which brings with it its own excitement.

Players are able to wager 20 c to $/€240, and if they like, activate the ante bet, which ups the stake by 25%, doubling the chance of getting free spins. Each spin starts by filling a 6x5 action area that creates winning combinations when at least 8 matching symbols land anywhere on the grid. Highly volatile, the top theoretical RTP clocks in at 96.51%.
As well as sweets, the pay symbols are bananas, grapes, watermelons, plums, and apples along the bottom of the paytable, then four hard candies running along the top. Scatter combination payout values range from 0.25x to 10x for 8 OAK up to 2x to 50x for 12+ OAK. After winning combinations have hit, the symbols that formed the win disappear from the reels. Remaining symbols drop downwards, and new symbols are added at the top to fill the empty positions. If a new win forms after a tumble, the process repeats again. When a tumble sequence ends, the total win is paid.
Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter: Slot Features

Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter's features are tumbles, the all-important Super Scatter, free spins, and feature buys.
Super Scatter
The Super Scatter can appear on all reels. Hitting combinations of 4 or more scatters and Super Scatters triggers the free spins feature. Hitting 1, 2, 3, or 4 Super Scatters in combinations of 3, 3, 3, or 4 or more scatters of any kind pays 100x, 500x, 5,000x, or 50,000x the bet, respectively.
Free Spins
Hitting 4, 5, or 6 scatters triggers 10 free spins and awards 3x, 5x, or 100x the bet, respectively. During the bonus round, whenever 3 or more scatters hit, +5 free spins are granted. Free spins are where multiplier symbols may land, displaying a value of x2 to x100, and they remain on the reels until the end of a tumble sequence. When no more wins occur, the values of all multiplier symbols in view are added together, and the total multiplier is applied to the total win of the sequence. The Super Scatter does not appear during free spins.
Feature Buy
Free spins can be bought from the base game, and there are two choices. One is a regular free spins feature triggered by 4 or more scatters for 100x the bet or super free spins costing 500x where the minimum multiplier symbol value is x20.

Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter: Slot Verdict
So many times does a new scatter paying slot hit the review queue possessing echoes of Sweet Bonanza running through it, that it felt a little odd to review the genuine article. There's nothing odd about Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter, however, since for a large part, it operates almost exactly the same as the original did. That is, it delivers sugary bites of scatter pays, tumbles, and multipliers. Common as muck these days, maybe not so common back in 2019, but still just as enjoyable when everything's running in sync. One thing which might hold the game back in some eyes is that multiplier symbols do not appear in the base game; they're free spins only, but this fact hasn't exactly held the Sweet Bonanza series back in the past, and is unlikely to do so here either.
Plus, there is an extra incentive to spin through the base game now anyway. That incentive is, of course, the chance of landing Super Scatters when triggering free spins. Hitting four Super Scatters is, after all, the most efficient way of bumping hard into Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter's 50,000x win cap. Theoretically, anything might be possible, but it's hard to say whether the max win can realistically be achieved any other way. Substantial non-Super Scatter wins are possible, though. It's not for nothing that Sweet Bonanza remains relevant, and its gameplay is as tasty now as it was years ago when the game debuted.
Like other Super Scatter slots (Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, for example), it doesn't take a huge leap of imagination to picture Sweet Bonanza supporters making the switch to Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter due to the RTP and gameplay being so close, while winning potential has been tremendously jacked.
Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter's enormous winning potential should be just the sweetener needed to draw in new and returning players.
