Tiki Treasures Megaways: Review

Head to the Polynesian jungle in Tiki Treasures Megaways, a 6 reel slot with cascading symbols that offers up to a total of 117,649 ways to win when fully expanded. Similar in gameplay to Buffalo Rising Megaways, it comes with Mystery Symbols and a free spins game where you can choose your desired volatility. Moreover, there is a randomly activated jackpot game offering a chance to land a progressive jackpot. Tiki Treasures Megaways can be played across all devices from 10 cents to 100€ per spin.

Booting up the game, the logo had us confused for a second as it's confusingly similar to Push Gaming's Tiki Tumble. Thankfully, in terms of gameplay, they're two totally different beasts. With a jungle backdrop and the reels set between two totem poles, you'll hear intense drum-based traditional music playing in the background. On the reels you will see 9, 10, J, Q, K and A royals as well as 4 different tiki masks. The green mask is the most rewarding out of the standard symbols giving you 50 times your stake for 6 of a kind. The golden coin is the wild and substitutes for all symbols except the scatter.

Tiki Treasures Megaways: Features

Similar to many other Megaways slots, Tiki Treasures Megaways comes with cascading reels where all symbols part of a winning combination are removed to make way for new symbols dropping from above. These chain reactions repeat as long as new wins are created. The number of symbols on each reel also varies with every spin, giving you from 729 up to a staggering 117,649 ways to win. In addition, there are also positions above reels 2 through to 5 to help you achieve wins.

Look out for the question mark symbol - when it hits, all instances transform into matching symbols. Known as the Mystery Symbols feature, it can appear in both the main game and in the bonus game.

Land the word T I K I on the reels and you'll trigger the Free Spins game. When activated, you will then be presented with a selection of multiplier and free spins combinations. This is what's on offer:

  • 15 free spins with a x1 multiplier start.
  • 10 free spins with a x5 multiplier start.
  • 5 free spins with a 10x multiplier start.
  • You can also choose to go with the Mystery Choice which awards a random starting multiplier and free spins.

It's all about the growing multipliers here with each winning cascade increasing the win multiplier by 1 - with no limit. As is the case with most Megaways games it offers massive potential with max wins of up to 10,000 times your total stake. The most you can win, however, is 250,000€ as the developers have decided to cap it at a fixed amount.

Extra scatter symbols when triggering the free spins will increase the number of spins on offer, but not the multipliers. You can also retrigger the free spins game by landing 3 or more scatters anywhere in view during the round. On a further note, unlike Buffalo Rising Megaways, there is no feature buy option on offer which means you're left to trigger the bonus organically.

Finally, there is the randomly activated Jackpot King jackpot game which comes into play when 4 Jackpot King overlay symbols appear in view. Here, you will spin the reels in order to accumulate crown symbols while moving up a win ladder. Collect 15+ symbols and you'll enter the Wheel King section where you can trigger the progressive pot.

Tiki Treasures Megaways: Verdict

There's nothing really new to Tiki Treasures Megaways aside from the Jackpot feature which, by the way, already can be found in many other Blueprint slots. Unless you enjoy hunting for jackpots, both Buffalo Rising Megaways and Temple of Treasure Megaways are better options as they offer slightly higher RTP.

Visually and in terms of gameplay, these are all great games although we can't help but feel that the market has become a bit oversaturated with clones or near-clones. With that said, the Megaways engine is still extremely popular and fans of Blueprint's successful Megaways series will likely be pleased with yet another alternative to try their luck on.

Great

Tiki Treasures Megaways doesn’t distinguish itself from its revered predecessors, but great visual design and outstanding potential make it engaging nonetheless.
