Doing so ups the stake by 25% and increases the chance of leprechaun symbols landing. A medium volatile game, 5 Pots o' Riches has a theoretical return value of 95.5%, and that figure remains the same whether playing normally or when the Leprechaun Bet has been activated.

Players score a regular win when matching symbols land from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel, on any of the 20 fixed paylines. Prize Reel

Then again, leprechaun players might have been more jazzed if Pragmatic Play hadn't released Rainbow Gold not long before 5 Pots o' Riches, which is a similar game. Both slots make use of a top prize wheel displaying a variety of bonuses and modifiers, triggered when a leprechaun symbol lands beneath them. Blueprint did beat Pragmatic to the punch since 5 Pots o' Riches' mould slot, King of the West, preceded it by several months, but then again, is anyone really counting?

There are subtle differences between 5 Pots o' Riches and King of the West. For one, the prize wheel in King of the West moves one position to the left on each spin, whereas in 5 Pots o' Riches, all five prizes are refreshed on every game round. Personal preference, but the original game's method could be extra tantalisingly when a solid prize symbol slowly progresses its way across the reels. Prize values in King of the West appeared to be worth more than those in 5 Pots o' Riches, too, with a greater number of the higher value bandit symbols than the gold pot symbols. The Western slot was more volatile, though, so it was potentially a tougher nut to crack and did offer fewer free spins in its bonus round. Still, despite the alterations, when you get down to it, there's nothing novel about 5 Pots o' Riches.

But hey, if leprechaun slots are an area of interest, being original probably isn't a major must. Greater emphasis seems to be placed on having a jolly time on the reels, and this 5 Pots o' Riches certainly provides. Blueprint has created an agreeable scene, replete with plenty of natural Irish imagery that hints at being magical without going overboard. A lot of cliches remain in 5 Pots o' Riches, so purists won't miss out on those if they choose to play this game over the masses of other leprechaun games out there. As is usually the case, though, if leprechauns aren't your thing, 5 Pots o' Riches will probably be as deathly dull as the rest of them.
