Doggy Riches Megaways: Slot Overview
If you aren't a major monarchist, you might not be aware of the British Royal Family's association with corgis, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, to be exact. Elizabeth II has been into them for years, apparently owning over 30 of them since she was crowned Queen in 1952. So deeply ingrained are the dogs in the British monarchy, corgis have appeared in paintings, professional photos, and statues over the years. Now, players into the cuddlier side of life can spin alongside the cute canines in a slot-based around them called Doggy Riches Megaways from Red Tiger.
When Doggy Riches Megaways lit up the screen, it reminded us of what a strong personality Red Tiger has. What we mean is you instantly know you are in a Red Tiger slot, and so overwhelming is the studio's presence it's easy to forget this is a Megaways powered game. There's something about the visuals, the tea party objects, the opulence, the bizarre dogs as kings and queens angle that brought on an almost White Rabbit vibe. Ironic since White Rabbit is also a Megaways game too and which also doesn't use the typical Megaways reel setup, but anyway. Doggy Riches is played on a 6-reel game grid, presented as if it is a painting in a thick, red-curtained gallery, next to a collection of other eccentric artworks. It's all a bit nutty, in a good way, and sometimes a spot of surreality is just what the doctor ordered. Let's continue.

Moving to the maths, we find a highly volatile game engine, producing a theoretical return to player value of 96%. Stake range isn't massive, from 10 p/c to $/€10 per spin, which is often a positive sign in a Red Tiger game as to what potential might be. In Doggy Riches Case, it's quite decent, coming in at 10,500 times your stake.
Putting the graphics team to work, Red Tiger has come up with a batch of original dog-related symbols to colour Doggy Riches' reels. Landing at least three identical symbols in adjacent reels from the left produces a win out of the nine regular pay symbols. On the low side, we get four collar icons, followed by gloves, cuppas, banknotes, lockets, and crowns as the five premiums. Landing six of a kind isn't exactly a major windfall on its own, where low pays will get you 0.4-0.7x your stake, or 0.8 to 3x for the premiums. Better hope the features can step that up somehow.
Doggy Riches Megaways: Slot Features

Doggy Riches' base game is padded out with chain reactions and Royal Corgi wilds, which then turn sticky when free Queen Spins are awarded.
Chain Reaction
Winning symbols form chain reactions when they hit. First, winning combinations are removed from the grid, making way for new symbols to drop into the gaps to possibly form new wins. Chain reactions continue in this way until no new wins appear, then the next fresh spin takes place.
Royal Corgis
Royal Corgis are fully stacked wild symbols that appear on reels 2 or 5. Each has a multiplier of x2 applied to all win ways they are part of. If both Royal Corgi wilds participate in a win, their multipliers are multiplied by each other. Royal Corgis are not destroyed when used in a win.
Queen Spins
When Corgi wilds land on reels 2 and 5 at the same time, you get 10 Queen Spins to play. Both corgi wilds are locked in place for the duration of the feature, which cannot be retriggered. Each win achieved in Queen Spins increases a rising multiplier by +1, up to a maximum of x20. Also, the two Corgi Wilds may randomly blow kisses at each other. Doing so spawns 2-5 regular sized baby Corgi wilds on the reels between them. Baby Corgis do not lock and are removed if they participate in a win.
Doggy Riches Megaways: Slot Verdict
Not long before we reviewed Doggy Riches, Nolimit City had totally swept the 2021 Bigwinboard Awards, winning each of the three award categories. With a reputation for exploring a grimmer side of life, the studio took out the top five spots in Game of the Year. If the trend is for brutally mean, then Doggy Riches is in for a serious uphill battle to gain recognition - at least amongst players whose idea of fun is chancing it in maximum security prisons or psychiatric institutions. If, on the other hand, you prefer a brighter, more humorously doggy side of life, then Doggy Riches Megaways might be the Earl Grey alternative you were looking for.
Features are about as light as the rest of the game, which is either super awesome or a drag depending on how you view everything else. Full reel wilds in a Megaways are helpful, especially with a multiplier attached, but those found here aren't the most potent form of this sort of feature. If you like the concept yet need more oomph, games like Kulta Jaska, Heroes Hunt or Medallion Megaways serve them up too.
Really though, Doggy Riches Megaways doesn't come across as the sort of game that was built with hardcore gamblers who want to squeeze every last drop out of a slot in mind. As such, the playful features match the theme like a charm. If you aren't ruffled by the thought of sitting down to tea with a couple of royal dogs in the art gallery wing of a palace, then a few fun but gentle features probably won't be an issue. Then again, games like the Dog House have done well, so who knows? Maybe it'll be a hit? In any case, if the corgis do deem you worthy of rewards, then Doggy Riches Megaways stretches as high as 10,500x the bet.
If the idea of snuggling up on the couch with a puppy or two while sipping hot tea sounds just divine, then keep Doggy Riches Megaways in mind as it came across as the online slot equivalent.
