Buffalo Win Infinity Reels Demo & Review

Buffalo Win Infinity Reels: Slot Overview

We gotta come clean. When Buffalo Win Infinity Reels popped up on the radar, we weren't exactly rearing with anticipation to give it a whirl. Developer PG Soft has done a few Infinity Reels slots now, taking players from Egypt to Bali to a winter wonderland, and none have been hugely impressive. Factor in the common wilderness setting, and enthusiasm wasn't exactly running high. Sometimes, low expectations can lead to pleasant surprises, though, which was sort of the case in Buffalo Win Infinity Reels, where features such as expanding symbols, a progressive win multiplier, and free spins gelled together quite well. In the end, Buffalo Win Infinity Reels came up with enough goods to entertain players after some reel building wilderness gaming.

First of all, since PG Soft is mobile-focused, you're going to want to play Buffalo Win Infinity Reels on a smartphone. It works okay on a desktop computer, though like the others PG Soft has done, you end up playing on a cramped, mobile sized game panel, while the rest of the screen is a blurry outdoor image. After reviewing a few of these, it's still a mystery why PG Soft does this. Surely it wouldn't have been that difficult to clean up the background, expand the reels, and make it desktop-friendly? No doubt, there is some business reason behind the decision to do it this way. The focus, then, is a 3-reel, 4-row game grid, which gets bigger not only as reels are added but as some of the symbols split into stacks.

Buffalo Win Infinity Reels slot

Technically playable on any device, Buffalo Win Infinity Reels offers stakes from 20 p/c to $/€200 per spin. Medium volatile, the 25,000x max win is quite significant, though not as tremendously optimistic as other PG Soft Infinity Reels games have advertised themselves to be. However, RTP is rather high, which is nice, coming in at the larger than average figure of 96.74%.

Regular Infinity Reels rules apply here, so if a winning combination covers all 3 reels, another reel is added to the right-hand side. If the new reel improves the win or has a free spins symbol on it, another is added, and so on, until a reel appears without winning symbols or scatters on it. Then, the next spin starts back at the normal 3x4 size. As for the payout values, and there are 10 regular symbols used throughout the game. The first six are plain 9-A royals worth 1 to 2 times your stake, while the higher values are eagles, horses, wolves, and cougars worth 3 to 5 times your stake. Buffalos are wild, have no value of their own, yet are useful for completing wins by substituting for any of the pay symbols. In addition, there are plenty of wheat covered blocker tiles, which do nothing but take up valuable space on the reels.

Buffalo Win Infinity Reels: Slot Features

As well as the core Infinity Reels function, Buffalo Win Infinity Reels comes with a multiplier, expanding stacked symbols, and free spins.

Multiplier

At the start of every main game spin, the win multiplier is x1. Whenever an extra reel is added to the grid, the multiplier increases by +1. When no more reels are added, the winning total is boosted by the applicable multiplier value.

Expanding stacked symbols

This is the most innovative part of Buffalo Win Infinity Reels. When pay symbols land on the reels, they may be 1x1 in size, or they may occupy 2 to 4 positions on their reel. If these larger symbols are used in a win, they transform themselves into a random number of symbols:

  • Symbols covering 2 spaces split into 3 or 4 symbols.
  • Symbols covering 3 spaces split into 4, 5, or 6 symbols.
  • Symbols covering 4 spaces split into 5, 6, 7, or 8 symbols.

On a single spin sequence, if 3 scatter symbols land, 10 free spins are awarded. Should more than 3 scatters land, each extra scatter gets you an additional +2 free spins. During free spins, all symbols in the expanding stacked feature turn into wild symbols. Also, the win multiplier does not reset between free spins.

Buffalo Win Infinity Reels: Slot Verdict

If you are partial to wild backcountry, howling wolves and stampeding buffalo, you could do worse than check out Buffalo Win Infinity Reels. It was a fairly entertaining game, though it might have helped that we went in with moderate expectations due to the well-used theme and patchy Infinity Reels track record. PG Soft has included animal animations to give the symbols a degree of life, accompanied by lightning-filled skies, and the soundtrack helps lay the scene. There's a good reason why software providers repeatedly use this scenery in their games.

The features turned out to be well thought out too. The expanding symbols, aka xWays, were entertaining, especially when boosted by the win multiplier or when they become wild. This combination of features threw up a decent win now and then - when the game was in the mood. There's a nice interplay between the extras, accentuated during free spins by the non-resetting multiplier and wild transformations. Technically, Buffalo Win Infinity Reels can go places, too, as the max win is listed as 25,000x the bet. If you've been following PG Soft's Infinity range, you'll know this is a quarter of what the others claim; however, their 100,000x max win seems yet to materialise. In other words, it could very well be a bogus claim.

There was a hint or two of Nolimit City when playing Buffalo Win Infinity Reels, and it makes you wonder what they would do with the Infinity Reels format. Buffalo Win Infinity Reels is neither overly simplistic nor complex but finds a comfy middle ground between the two, and for our buck, it was the most enjoyable PG Soft Infinity Reels game to date. Just be sure to bring a mobile if you are going to try your luck with Buffalo Win Infinity Reels; anything bigger feels unnecessarily condensed.

Bigwinboard Summary

With the right expectations, and a mobile device, Buffalo Win Infinity Reels serves up a decent helping of buffalo themed action, though the wow factor just isn't there.
